It was fairly good, and was refreshingly original in premise (something new for a recently released space movie). There are some pretty interesting ethical dilemmas considered, and a very good question is raised about Chris Pratt’s efficacy at opening doors.
Overall, on a scale of Subaru Sambar to Lancia 037, I give it a solid Oldsmobile 442.
And a real lesson to be learned from this movie is to never get on a Spaceship with Laurence Fishburne. Bad news, bad news all day.

I regret to tell you there are no new stories under the sun friend. They’ve all been done before in one guise, or another. The trick in Hollywood is how to make them appear new.
We basically break them down to 2 potential stories, a stranger comes to town, or someone goes on a journey. That’s all there is.

Ah, Tolstoy.
And don’t call me friend, buddy.

Hey man, your post about eating babies yesterday shows that you are a good sport. Props to you for that.
I was reproved by Rambling Rover for being overly glib in my posts and I have tried to keep that in mind. I try to be thoughtful and constructive and respectful (though that gets difficult when the person in question is willing to be photographed with Kanye West...).
I love Oppo. Everyone is excellent.
Peace.

“your post about eating babies yesterday shows that you are a good sport”
Haha, can I get that on a T-shirt?
Hey man, no worries. I am not bitter about anything, and I never meant for it to seem like I harbored some animosity toward you or your views. Imagine I said that while elbowing you in the ribs, just giving you a friendly little bit of shit.
I love Oppo too, but the election year stuff has made people super sensitive, so I am so ready for it to be over. When I was growing up politics was rarely ever discussed, but today it seems like EVERYTHING is politics. There’s 24-hr news cycles (both on and offline) that cover every stupid detail and spin every word that comes out of everyones mouth. For someone like me it becomes very tiring, and Oppo is one of my escapes.
And don’t think that I am a hardcore Trump supporter. Sure, I rubbed his victory in peoples faces (and I did vote for him), but I fucking despise the man. I pretty much agree with all your points.
Cheers!
(And sorry I missed this post for a couple days, my notification’s on my phone rarely work, so I only noticed this when I got back on my laptop.)

As strongly as I feel about Donald Trump, and along with everything else, I think he is a profound embarrassment, I feel more strongly about the betrayal of “sensitive” America by the liberal elite leadership. If Mitt Romney were the GOP alternative to HRC, I’d have voted for him in a hot second. I voted twice for BHO and would vote for him again and there was no way that Mitt nor anyone else could have wrested BHO’s vote away from me.
Now, I’m not claiming that BHO was somehow the best president, but I believe him to be a good man, which is far more than anyone can say about DJT.
If one of the other GOP contenders had been elected POTUS, we’d all have to live with different politics. Now, we have to live with this hateful, racist, school yard bully. Very, very small and insecure man.
Thanks for the note.
